Creative writing graduate, I am an aspiring novelist. Previously using NaNoWriMo as my motivation now I work to create stories fleshing out character focused stories of varying length and themes, my preference being modern fantasy.

I have become a novice game and TV show reviewer. Using as few spoilers as possible I deliver a review from the mind of someone who just got off the couch watching or playing that piece of media with a dash of my personal voice.

I am also the editor on the web-comic/prose series Project: Aegis where we've recently kickstarted our first physical isue.

RIX | Spoilers For Standard

The follow up to Ixalan is finally upon us. Rivals will make its way to standard very soon and with the entire list spoiled there might be some shake ups in the top decks. Ixalan was a very tribal focused set but most of the tribes struggled to make their debut outside of casual or limited play.

Over Energizing Standard

This has been a long year for Standard. We've seen many sets enter the format with some new spicy cards shaking things up, looking at you Hostage Taker. But the monarch of Standard has failed to be dethroned. There's been a lot of spin offs of it but the original still remains the best.

Drake Haven | Standard

Control has taken a lot of forms in Standard recently. From Blue Black control and it's off shoot Grixis control, winning through value removal and the Scarab God, to Blue White Approach which wins by keeping the battlefield clear and casting Approach of the Second Sun twice.

Pummeling Standard

With the release of Ixalan some things became very apparent in the standard format. Pirates and Dinosaurs are the coolest thing ever and Energy as a mechanic was going to continue to dominant. The classic Temur energy had morphed into Sultai energy adopting the Winding Constrictor or going so far as to be 4-Color energy or Moist Jund with the Scarab God at the head.

Iron Fist

"Daredevil" was a strong start, "Jessica Jones" was a surprise hit, and "Luke Cage" was a solid statement. Yet it seems the magic has run out for Marvel, because their new Netflix series "Iron Fist" did not deliver on any of the hype that surrounded it.

A Pansexual Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman has been one of the strongest feminist icons in comic books for several years. On top of that, she's often seen as the pioneer for equality, the first to not only speak out amongst her high-ranking peers, but also act.

Hell's Kitchen's best P.I.

Recently, Marvel has dumped its newest Netflix original into our lives, and boy, is it a stark difference from its movies. Its previous series "Daredevil" (not the god-awful film) focused on Matt Murdock and his struggle to clean up Hell's Kitchen, a small section of New York rife with violence and corruption.
