British duo Eli & Fur aka Eliza and Jennifer are Londoners and called themselves 'opposites.' Eli, initially interested in pursuing a future as a singer-songwriter at open mic nights, loved Michael Jackson, and Fur was a gung-ho electronic-head liking Depeche Mode and raucous drum and bass gigs, came together at age 16 in London.

Danny Savage who originates from Leeds started out organising and promoting music events. A turning point for him was putting on his event 'Filth' in his small hometown of Otley, West Yorkshire to a sell out crowd and booking Daley Padley, now known as the global sensation ' Hot Since 82 '.
IMS the music industry conference and showcase by originators and key influencers in the electronic music field for Europe and beyond is set to kick off 22-24th May 2019. Held in arguably one of the most sought out destination capitals of dance music on the White Isle of Ibiza, the summit is hosted at Hard Rock Cafe within the infamous playground of Playa den Bossa.
This year saw the launch of the London music conference taking place in east of the City locations, mainly the fab modern venue, Oval Space in N2, Bethnal Green, London. It was held a week before ADE in Amsterdam so it was fitting to combine the two conferences back to back.
Music Events in electronic dance music as an importable / exportable brand. Music Events, which become successful in their originating city, become 'regionally' (locally) known. They face one aim; to become acclaimed, popular, prosperous, and eventually "industry": legends, icons, movements. Some are destined for world domination; a webbed network of instantly recognisable influence.
FASHION
Day two saw the presentation by Bouguessa as part of the newly launched showcase #DubaiCollections - an initiative organised by the Dubai based PR Faux Counsultancy putting forward their full stable of designers. Supporting were Fashion Forward organising team in attendance.
The organisers of #DubaiCollections got together inspiring talks between shows. This talk on Day 2 at 5pm, introduced be Firras Alwahabi, reflected on how designers can engage the media and what to do in order to prep themselves to be media-ready. The role of the journalist here is an important one.
Every season of Fashion Forward holds a variety of relevant and inspiring industry talks in between shows and presentations and this season was no different. The only difference, after six seasons held at the Madinat Jumeirah Arena, was that the fashion showcase moved to the mostly outdoor Hai D3 location.
Zaid Farouki, a designer with his atelier at D3 Dubai Design District showed a presentation on Saturday afternoon, Day 2 of Fashion Forward Season 8 at Hai D3. For anyone who would stop at the Washington DC business studies graduate's atelier, for which he has a keen open door policy, they would be warmly welcomed and eagerly shown his works.
Dima Ayad showcased her Autumn Winter 2016 collections on Day 2 of the #DubaiCollections at the Burj Khalifa Annex, organised by public relations firm Faux Consultancy for which Ayad is part of a local based stellar roster.

This season Splash Fashions, as productive as ever, put on their latest show entitled with a theme; Xcess. Guests on the Palm at the Asateer tent with a most photogenic entry hall, were given the memo to wear black and white and as always, attendees felt the graciousness of an excellent host.
This fashion show was an end of year showcase for the University of Sharjah Fashion Department (BA in Fashion Design & Textiles) combined with a few other designers who also wished to dovetail into the evening's program, produced by specialty fashion show organiser Pret Motif.
