My feet hurt, my neck aches and yet I feel more alive than ever. For the past few days I have been at Hispanicize - THE hottest (literally it's in Miami! ) annual Latino media and trends conference. Running in heels from panel sessions to parrandas here are just a few highlights.
The Latina Power in the room was palpable. At this past week's Hispanicize conference one of the hands down BEST sessions I attended was "Adelante Movement: The Wisdom of Latina Legends." Together with Coca-Cola and the brainchild of entrepreneurial cubana Nely Galán - Adelante serves as a motivational speaker platform featuring accomplished Latinas - past luminaries include chicana author Sandra Cisneros and Noble Peace Laureate Rigoberto Menchu.
My bestie and her man love to play this secret game. For example, she will see a hot guy and her boo will then ask: "Would you sleep with him?" She will then respond based on his level of attracted-ness: "Oh yes he can get it!"
Remember the 1999 comedy Office Space? Where several corporate employees who loathed their 9-5 grind conspire to avenge their evil jefes? Besides the hilarious scenes (staplers, kicking the crap out of a printer with a baseball bat) you can't help but notice how the workplace was back then.
